1) It looks like your light consists of several light sources?
Our lights use arrays of LED's, designed to maximize light efficiency. Therefore, yes, we do have several light sources in each fixture.

2) Are these lights easily swapped with existing sources such as Fluorescents and Metal Halide?
Our lights are designed to directly replace your existing fixtures while significantly reducing power consumption. It is necessary to replace the entire fixture, as LED lighting does not use the ballasts present in these older lighting technologies. Instead, Glowble lighting uses safe, efficient and reliable low voltage power supplies to drive our products.

3) Are the lights heavy?
Our lights are similar in weight to that of the fluorescent fixture, yet much lighter than Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium fixtures.

4) How much maintenance is required?
Our products are maintenance free for up to 100,000 hrs (11.4 years). Low maintenance is one of the many benefits to LED lighting. There aren't any filaments to burn out, bulbs to replace, or ballast capacitors to fail. Due to this, we greatly exceed the life expectancies typically found in fluorescent and HID fixtures. Therefore, LED lighting eliminates typical and time-consuming maintenance problems.

5) How long before they burn out?
Typical life expectancy of our LED lighting is 100,000 hours. However, LED's do not "burn out" like a typical light bulb. The light output of the LED reduces slightly over time, but at a much slower rate than other lighting elements. Since the LED theoretically continues working for an extremely long time, this longevity is based on a 30% reduction in total light output. Many of the lighting products being widely used today have life expectancies as low as 10,000 hours (1.14 years) with an average light output of only 64% of initial. The life expectancy and reliability of a "well designed" LED fixture is far superior to any other light source available today. It is also important to understand that any LED fixture will not necessarily have the same reliability we achieve at Glowble™ SSL. Improper design can lead to significantly reduced life.

6) What do you mean by Environmentally safe?
Fluorescent and HID lighting elements contain Mercury. If not properly disposed of, this mercury can leak into the ground through landfills and contaminate water sources. As it spreads, it can cause the contamination of our food and water sources and thus, poisoning our own biological systems. Mercury exposure has been linked to nervous disorders, cancer, kidney damage, respiratory failure, and many other potentially lethal health problems. LED's do not contain Mercury or any other known harmful contaminants, thus making them "Environmentally friendly".

7) Can I use them for my house?
Residential lighting options will be coming in the near future. We do have products that will work in your house, but the light output would be significantly more than needed. As an example, your typical 100-watt incandescent light bulb will put out as much as 1400 lumens. The Glowble™ 52 watt fixture puts out approximately 2.5 times that light or 3500 lumens while utilizing half the power.
